Parish Focus in The Voice Magazine

South Normanton Parish Council's " Parish Focus" was featured in the January 2019 edition of the local magazine "Voice Magazine". The article contained news and popular events successfully held in the village over the last year and a list of SNPC 2018 achievements and planned events and projects coming soon in South Normanton.

Town Park Project Refurbishment
Park refurbishment for the younger children of the village, with a spectacular opening event.

Summer Holiday Events
Extreme Wheels on South Street Recreation Ground All free of charge.

Centenary Remembrance
A weekend of events to commemorate and pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice during WW1 and in all other conflicts since.

Christmas Tree & Lights
The first ever village Christmas Lights Switch Christmas in the Market Place.

New Year's Eve Party
Tickets. A Community Partnership between the Post Mill Center and Our Normanton Parish Council.

2019 - Coming Soon

Hand Rail & Bench
A new handrail and bench will be in situ on the South Street Recreation Ground, making walking up the slope much easier. Especially during Winter.

Outdoor Gym Equipment
Installation of outdoor gym equipment at South Street Recreation Ground and Post Mill Park. The equipment will also be suitable for the disabled.

Twinning Project
The Parish Council is working with members of Community Groups to look into the possibility of twinning.

South Normanton Parish Flag
Children of the village will be invited to design a parish flag

Viking Festival
A weekend festival is being planned with re-enactments which will delight the children and adults alike. Customary Viking costumes will be present along with stalls selling traditional goods.
